Drawing upon 30 years of healthcare experience as a nurse and a decade in advanced practice, Jolene brings authentic stories, clinical insight, inspiration, and meaningful conversations to clinicians, leaders, and families navigating today’s pediatric world.

A national leader in pediatric education, Dr. Carlton has extensive experience in simulation-based training, continuing education, professional development and clinical leadership. She has created national continuing education programs, hosted national podcasts, and held multiple state-level leadership roles with the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP). Dr. Carlton currently serves as Co-Chair of NAPNAP’s National Education Strategy Committee and as a Section Editor for the upcoming second edition of the AACN Pediatric Procedure Manual. A two- time recipient of the NAPNAP Presidential Commendation, she is passionate about advancing innovation, strengthening the healthcare workforce, professional development, and the integration of AI to improve outcomes for children and families
